Modding Sketch up question

ok this is all about scaling compnents ok?

Lets say i have drawn a square with edges of i dunno, say 1 meter each side.

i have another square as a component from another model that i wish to scale up to use un this model, i copy and pase it in, only to find that the sides are not one meter but umn 71.2 cms each

is there a way that i can choose one side at 71.2cm and type in 1mtr and the whole square will scale up to those proportions?

or something to get the same affect?

do you understand what i mean?

p.s have tried draggin with the scale tool, but i cant do anything very exact

 

put a marker from the ground to the hight off 1 mtr.
and use the scale tool and scale it!!!!
