been some time since i last used sketch up. and christ at the price!!

i have had a go at using freecad for while and am slowly getting to grips with it, my cad skills are a bit lacking since the last progam i used was xcad on the amiga in the early 90s

are there any simple alternatives like sketchup ?

For 2D stuff, there's also "Draftsight", a multi-platform free AutoCAD clone.

I moved from Sketchup to Fusion 360 a while ago now, there's plenty of tutorials available and it isn't really as complicated as it first appears. Another option to look at would be https://www.tinkercad.com/#/ another autodesk product that people seem to get amazing designs from, I've not used it but based on who it's aimed at might be the easiest to pick up quickly.

Do you really need the paid version, there's Sketchup Make and Sketchup Free available (make downloadable, and free being web based)
