    The tutorials are great. They are and they do help allot. This colection is also top notch. Some guys really know there way around the program, I am not one of them, yet.
    I find gathering the info for the model the hardest part. But again this is for sketching and not modeling.

    has anyone done any sketchup files for the Lubic/profile/80-20 pieces?

    I have a set, and planning a build, but having the sketchup files for the pieces to go along with the mobo and PSU files would be great?

    I can send measurements if one of you sketchup masters could help me out?

    Quite right. Sketchup is fast becoming a useful tool for mod planning on Bit-tech.

    Okay, here is the best closeup of the end of a lubic bar that I could get...took a while with camera settings and tripod since its black and shiny, and I wanted good edge focus too. Ended up using manual focus, my tripod at its shortest, macro mode, and a timer lapse so my hand wouldn't shake it from pressing the shutter button. )

    Its big, but should be clear enough.
    [IMG]

    It is .630 Inches at its widest (outside Dimension)
    each corner is .225 inches on a side
    the gap in between is .180 inches
    so a whole single side is (.225) corner + (.180) gap + (.225 corner) = .630 total

    The center at its narrowist is .225 inches (middle cross section)
    The "slot" tab overhang is .180 inches.

    hope this helps, please photoshop this image to let me know what other dimesions will help you.

    My Airplane Lubic Pack came with 12X448mm (sorry for the change in units, but my caliper doesn't do metric).
    6X256mm 14X192mm and 6X96mm.

    thanks guys...btw (joking) could you arrange the bars, just so, such that my case is already done? )

    I will be getting all the other files together and playing with them to learn more about the scaling and insertion.

    Does anyone have an FX5900 or 5950 that they have modeled?

    here is my first shot at designing my new reservoir. This will have two inlets on one side, and two outlet on the other. Hopefully I sized it right for it to sit over a 92mm Fan/Rad outlet in the center.http://home.att.net/~dgephri-tkc/reservoir1.skb

    Do you have the dimensions in millimeters?

    [edit] Nevermind, but the dimensions of the slot would be useful

    A=0.175 inches
    B=0.035 inches
    C=0.090 inches
    D=0.190 inches wide X 0.065 depth of curve

    those are as close as I can get with my eyes squingting and trying wedge the calipers inside and out to get good readings.

    Thanks for help, what did you think of my first try on the Reservoir sketch?

    1 foot long, can be push/pulled to any length.

    Haven't grouped it but it can easily be made into a component. The sizes are as you gave them but it does look a little large. One of your dimensions was 0.1" too big.

    I left it in inches since your dimensions were imperial.

    [edit] Adjusted the depth of the slots a little, they seemed a bit too big.

    thanks a lot...I figure that the slots and all that are just overkill for detail and shadow, not like I intend to show the screws and slots anytime soon.

    Thank you a lot, again, would have used up my entire demo clock just to do that.
