Just emailed this dual xeon board to Jez. Needed it for a folding rig rack design so thought I'd upload it too!

Currently I'm designing a mainboard template after the ATX specification to have mounting holes at the right places in future projects etc.

Right now I'm trying to figure out the correct placement of the different connector slots (PCI, PCI-X, PCI-E). I'm leaving out AGP for obvious reasons.

However I can't find any ressource as where to place the PCI-E connectors. The official standards are very expensive as you have to be in some club. Kinda low for a supposedly open standard. Could anyone enlighten me with some information please?
Do you even understand what I want to know?

Edit: An example: There's a connector every .8 inches. I know where to put a PCI slot. From this I can figure out where to place the PCI-E slot in height. How far off is the connector from the side of the board though?

I'm a little confused, as the PDF you link to showsthe position of dimensions on Page 12 for the slots? Surely you can also confirm this by measuring a motherboard?

Regardless of what type of slot it is the physical slot will always be in the same position from the parallel edge of the board, the depth from the rear of the board could easily be measured on an existing motherboard with PCIx.

That's what I tried to explain, thank you. I know the position from the parallel edge of the board, but not from the rear edge.

Yeah sure you could measure the depth, but that's not what I am interested in. I want the placement (and measurement of cards) to be exact for once. :D

The height of mainboard coolers or caps can be measured or estimated even, but some important measurements should be correct I think, such as mounting holes for the board itself, the CPU cooler, or the expansion slots.

It would be really nice to have some correct templates for a mainboard, a PCI card and a PCI-E card (just the PCB and the mounting bracket). That way you'd only have to change the length of the card, add a texture and start adding details if you need them.

I found a pdf of the old 1.1 specification somewhere *cough* and the measurements haven't changed between 1.1 and 2.1.
