    Just registered, yay.

Anyway, didn't see it and I really hope I'm not wasting time doing it if somebody else allready modeled one up... but I'm working on a Maze4-1 block. So far have the alum top done. Just got the program today and learning as I go so I'm no expert.

    Thanks for the welcome! :)

As for the block, through the years I've downloaded various 3d programs that I dont' even remember the names of and to be honest I've never gotten the feel of the programs quick enough to keep me entertained. With this I just got Sketchup weary that it'd be deleted withen an hour but the videos are what made me try it. About 5 minutes into "Getting started in Sketchup" I almost fell asleep (keep in mind this was around midnight on a long day) anyway so I just got out my digital caliper and a spare maze4 and there you go after tinkering.

But thanks again, it gives some motivation to keep playing with it.

I've made a cone that matches the 120mm fan posted up here before. Yeah, I know, just a cone. Still, it helps to see it in the project. Want it for the list?

Also, does anyone know if there is a way to hide the lines? Would be nice if it was a smooth body with no visible lines. I tried to make this other ways, by warping a cylinder and such, but kept running into problems...even crashed the program at one point.

I know in 4.0 you can just select the line (or lines using the shift) and just go under Edit->Hide

Some great work there! (Please see below)

It would be best if all models are available from this thread - so please post your work somewhere which allows hotlinking and give us a link.

The only option I have there is "soften" and it has no affect. Hide was the correct option as the lines are now gone. You can see the a lighter color where they used to be, but thats alright, it still does the job quite well as you can see:

EDIT: Ugh, just realised that MS Paint didn't like the red. Oh well, you get the idea. I'm at work and Paint is my only tool available. I'll update the project thread with Paint Shop Pro pics - much better quality.

Best not to have too much detail anyway.
Can we have a screenshot? and maybe a version compatable with Sketchup 3?

    ---

in my version of Sketchup is the option Soften/Smooth Edges which opens a dialog with a slider to adjust the angles at which the softening takes place.

Your version is? Mine is 3.1.33. I have a feeling you're going to say 4.

Heh, I'm going to do a water block too... the dangerden maze 4 (I couldn't think of anything else to do) ... this is the first material object I've replicated with Sketchup - so much easier to use than 3ds max :p.. anyways, I'll edit this post once I am done.

(Note: I don't actually have one of these, I am making this from reference of a few pictures :p Picture 1 Picture 2 )
Edit: Got the anodized aluminum upper part done, working on the nozzle things (I'm going to replicate the little notches on the tube so this may take a while) and then the copper bottom part will be started, here's a preview:

    *Screenshot gone.

As for 3.x compatability, any ideas? Tried exporting to autocad format but it messed up the dimensions totally.
