That sounds like a great idea Beast. I was thinking the same thing too as I surf through Extreme Systems a lot. Go for it and I'll support you all the way.

@Valdisnei, awesome work bro. A digital camara would work best, just make sure you set it at it's highest resolution your camara can go. My camara's resolution goes up to 3264x2448. At that setting when reduced down a bit it will be even more sharper. From what I can see in your sample above your on the ball already.

Note: Always use a tri-pod when possible and use good lighting. The end result will be a great mapped model.

I have an old ATI 1600 Pro AGP IceQ lying around. Should I give it a go or is the card to old?

I'm at XS too, I'll gladly lend my support.

New models from me should be coming soon, this upgrade has been really nice...

Mmmmmm, I saved mine as a template. Every time I open it it has all my settings and watermark. How are you saving your file Beast?

@Aterius Gmork, go for it mate. alway good to add to the collection even if its an older component. I'll be done with my ATI HD 2900XT card soon and another one with a DangerDen HD 2900 Waterblock attached.

    Template
Use the Template preferences panel to designate a SketchUp file that you would want to use as a template for all of your subsequent models.

    Creating a Template
A template file contains default settings from the Model Info dialog box and base geometry. To create a template:

    1. Select File > New menu item to start a new SketchUp file.

    2. Modify the Model Info settings to fit your particular needs. For example, you might want to set default units and snaps, activate a ground plane, and set a geographic location.

    3. Modify the Preference settings to fit your particular needs.

    4. (optionally) Draw any geometry that you want to share among all of your models. For example, you might want all of your models of houses to be created within the same starting terrain (such as when you are creating models of houses within a housing development).

    5. Select File > Save to save the SketchUp file. Save this file in the Templates directory (under the SketchUp installation directory) if you want this file to appear in the drop-down list of templates within the Preferences dialog box.

    Automatically Loading a Template
You can load a template SketchUp file manually using File > Open every time you want to create a model. Or, you can identify a file as a template using the Template section of the Preferences dialog box to load the template automatically when you run SketchUp.

Select a template from the list of templates to load a template (if your SketchUp template file is in the Templates directory). Click the Browse button to locate templates that do not appear in the drop-down list.

Your template will load every time you run SketchUp.

Looking good TeChY_07, but I think your mapping/image is backwards. You may have to flip the image to get it facing the right way.

I like that fisheye effect too:thumb:

    Heres a hint.

Your mapping is backwards. I don't mean to offend you in any way, I just wanted to point it out to you and maybe you could have corrected it.

Just my opinion and I'll leave it at that. Keep up the good work.

The XFX FX 5200 that I was drawing... low-profile and low-end VGA, but high detailed.. :thumb:

The SKP uncompressed it's about 7MB.

@Jez, do i need to submit the SKP file using the submission page? or can I only post it here?
@scooby: my camera is 8MP (the same 3264x2448 from yours)... and I'm editing the textures/materials to remove the fisheye.
    Thx

PS. sry for my english

    Hi,

Well uh.... I don't know if this the right place... but I need some help

Here's my problem: I need to import in sketchup 4 two components from http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse but only available in Sketchup 5 or 6 format.

    http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=b58d4f4e0f3156a651dea69464be1d4&prevstart=0

    http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=c3123313c8f0dc2998606a71f2b2f168

Sketchup 4 can import DWG/DXF files.

Is it possible to export a sketchup 5(6) file to dwg/dxf so I could import it in Sket 4 ?
