    The whole idea of getting cable or any sort of movie or shows on the ipod makes me happy. Not just because I can watch it on the bus but because I can connect the ipod to the TV and watch the same movies and shows with any TV. But I dont like to pay for anything. Thank god I live in Canada were I can do such a thing with out paying.

    BTW I am 1st again. Sweet. :D

    You want media but you want it for free, gee wiz how do you think the people providing the media will continue to provide the service if everbody was like you. One thing I can't stand is people who proudly announce that they're cheap and want everything for free as if thats something to be proud of announcing. It's good that you live in Canada and it's good that you want free downloads but does anybody give a ****. It's like yeah I want free content distribution because I'm cheap but I also want the people creating content to continue to invest billions of dollars into the industry for my own personal pleasure at the cost of nothing. Does that make any sense. :sigh:
    What some people don't seem to understand is that content distribution is a business not a community service, it follows the same basic rule that drive all business and thats profitability. Would you proudly proclaim that your too cheap to purchase things hence you steal and rob stores for a living? No you wouldn't so why on earth would peope feel that they can proudly steal media?
    People don't seem realize that everything is relative and all things are connected one day when enough people stop paying for content then those who create content and distribute it will cease to do so because it will no longer be profitable. What you will end up with is the quality of media will slowly decline as investors slowly dwindle until we come to a age where the quality is so horrendous that everything will feel like a cheap China TV show. What then Mr. I live in Canada and don't like to pay for anything?
    I just want people to wake up, because the free ride will end one day. And stop looking at content protectors like the MPAA as bad guys because they are their to protect the very media industry that you've taken for granted.
    No I don't work for the MPAA I'm just a guy who's lived in countries with no control on content distribution and intellectual property and have felt the effect it has had on the quality and quantity of content.
    So guys smarten up and stop being proud of stealing.

    Whoah, dude... :) Lighten up a bit. Seriously, I think your argument has a lot of merit to it, but tactfulness is an art best learned. ;)

    {Middle portion removed as we brought the thread over to GD}

    But essentially, this whole reply as well as your rant are off topic. Sky is offering this service free to subscribers, which I think is wonderful. They're saying that if you pay for the content, you pay for the content...no matter what distribution it comes in. I think this is a big step forward in the way a media giant looks at its services.
