Hello, I have Sky & want to do away with the tv set & watch it on my pc.
I bought myself a winfast DTV2000h, installed & connected, but as yet no luck picking up Sky on a scan :(

Ive tried using the RF Out on the sky box & connecting it to both inputs on the tv card in turn, scanned extensively & still the card is not picking up anything from the sky box :(

Does anyone know of a way of getting this to work? Using non rf connections perhaps? I see there is a small video jack on the card aswell. Not sure if I can use that for just watching tv though, I thought that one was for recording?

The thing that baffles me is I had this card in another pc last year & it was picking up my video perfectly. But now not picking up anything at all.
Anyway, any help would be great :)

I've not got too much experience with setting these up with Sky, but have done one or two when setup through Media Center. Does it ask you to specify a channel before tuning? IIRC it needs channel 67/8/9 or something similar.

Prolly not a wholly useful post, but might lead you in the right direction.

has your TV card got like a RGB input or similar? So it doesn't need to scan, it can just show whatever's being input into it...

Oh dear you have a dvb-t card thus it will only scan for freeview channels from a set top or roof aerial (terrestial), you scan for non-ecrypted sky channels you need a dvb-s card like the nova-s2.
You could used the composite in on the card from the sky box see this just replace the vcr witrh sky set top box.

Hello, yes I have tried this in many combinations. I am not trying to pick up sky chnanels with the card on its own, I have a sky set-top box thats recieves the channels. I just need the card to pick up a single signal from the set top box, but its not working, where as it worked before in another pc. I cant get the card to pick up the video when I plug that in either :(

Did you transfer the card yourself? which connectors did it use in the old PC?

You have version 'H' presumably, and according the the link above, that card has video out not video in.

If there's a setting that allows the card to pick up analogue TV that might work - usually the 'cable' connection will allow switching to terrestrial. If this is the case, make sure the sky box is set to output video on the aerial out socket too.

Hello, yes, all connection are the same in new pc. I dont understand what has happened. In old pc I was able to connect my video to card using the rf in & watch videos on my pc & run my sky through my video to watch it on my pc.
Now I move card to new pc, connect video to card in same way & card picks up nothing. Its a mystery.
