Just finished writing a massive post in Jinkz's thread, its 4am. I've been up since lunchtime, and been pretty much doing stuff all day. Does anyone else find that at uni their sleep patterns get screwed up? I'm really gonna need to sort this out over the next couple of weeks - i've got exams and being late for them really isn't going to do me any good.

    Wow man...

I have a different sleeping pattern at college aswell.. it changes alot depending on classes. I always seem to go to bed earlier.

But today I had to get up at 7am ! And I only went to sleep around 2am... and I have an exam in about an hour!

    I'm so tired.

Well I'm gonna go and prepare for my exam :dremel: .

Mine, thankfully, have stayed fairly regular. Weekdays I'm down by 1 and up by 8. Weekends I'll go to about 2 and wake up around 10. I've never been able to sleep in ultra late, unlike just about everyone else I know.

Yesterday was different with a 3:30AM fire alarm. Probably was asleep for an hour, didn't go back to sleep until 5, woke up again around 7, stayed in bed drifting in and out of conciousness until 9. Maybe tonight it won't take me an hour to go to sleep like it usually does.

Also an insomniac, but haven't done the 7 day thing for a few months. 2-3 days at a time, at the moment.

I had no sleep pattern at university, strictly be awake when necessary, sleep when not.

At uni I settled into the (as has been shown in various sleep studies involving locking people in rooms without natural light or timepieces) natural human cycle of 28-30 hour days - awake for 18 hours, asleep for 9-10 - it served me well, apart from when I actually had to be places ;)

Sleep pattern revolves around lectures coursework and exams...
early lecture = early (relative) to bed
    no lectures = sleep whenever...
After may exams, sleep patterns got fecked, usually had ~ 4 hours sleep a night, up @ 10-12am, sleep 6-8am....

Exams atm though so trying to get a decent nights sleep, kinda hard with the weather atm, damn noisy in an attic room with tiles rattling etc...

    Mine used to be
early lecture: stay up for it
late lecture: sleep, and maybe get up for it

These days I get to sleep around 01:00 or 01:30 and have to get up at 06:30 to cycle to work. :(

Im back to my natural sleep pattern atm:

get up at 11ish (20mins ago)
fend for self and grab brekky and a shower
do work (revision most of the day)
    work till 1am
    hit the sack

Im always tired, i can sleep whenever and whereever if i have to. If im up for more than 24 hours i start to shake :/

When I was down in London, I used to go to sleep at about 10am, and get up at 5pm.

I find that if you are living alone, it is harder to force yourself to get to sleep at a reasonable time, or more importantly, get out of bed at a reasonable time in the morning. If you don't have something that you must go to, without fail (like work, or an exam), you find yourself wanting to stay in bed. I've been through it over the Christmas period this year.

University is all about finding out that you can stay awake the whole night and go with no sleep, but eventually realising that unless you sort it out your gonna really end up screwing with your health and especially concentration levels.

Think i'm currently at the point where i know i should be going to sleep at 3am but don't have the self motorvation to actually go and do it.

As for waking up.....well lets just say that when i was at uni i didn't see daylight on any Saturday for over a month.

Pffft, I do that 5 days a week even when working a full day. ;)
Cycle to work pre-sunlight, and leave after dark. Minimal windows in office (especially my end) means I can go days without seeing the sun. :(

I'm not too bad, usually get enough sleep in (7 hrs) :)

Actually I lie, there isn't much to do here so I usually sleep the time away. 18.5 hours uninterrupted was my record last semester :thumb:

18.5 hours! Crike, i've never even stayed in bed that long when i'm ill.

I usually get to sleep around 1am, and get up at 7am. Usually does the trick.

If nothing gets in the way I go for 0100 to 0900 sleep. However that often gets screwed up with staying out (0400/0500 bed) or working (0600 up) or both. Uni doesn't really change that as my earliest has only ever been 1000, usually 1100. When working I may get and hour or 30mins sleep here and there if it is needed.
