Update 5# GPU bracket and some tubes.

First time bending tubes. Hot one bend a little hot but it is quite easy to do.

Can't do any more work for a couple of weeks now :(

 You hard-lined a Gatorade bottle. I'm giving it a like for the shoelace. It adds that extra little bit of class. :D

How're you progressing under quarantine? I unfortunately ran out of black carbon brass tube before getting to the gpu (as you can tell by that softtube) and don't have acces to my usual space to make a distroplate so i just used a bayres to emulate one for now.

    Hey lewinernst

Quarantine has brought this project to a screeching halt. I need to access a CNC for my custom distro plate and that is not going to happen.

I have spent my time Changing the 3xUSB2 ports (one front, two Back) to USB3.1. Manual soldering on to some little connectors. nickel-plated-USB-3.0-female-connector.jpg

It will be a while I think till the last update.

    Update #Going Mad

So I may have had an idea of something to do while in lockdown and then I may have bought 3 more cases.

Was only $15 AUD ($5 each)

    Update again shortly

    Update 6#

I have had to leave the original bref a little.

    1. The USB ports on the back and front will now be blue USB3 ports. Changed from the original grey of the USB 2

I will see if I can do something to make them look more grey but I don't like my chances.

I just needed to do this to make it usable.
      Before 2x USB3.1 and 7x USB2
      Now 5x USB3.1 4x USB2

I was hoping that this would not happen but the PSU was heating up because it was a bit starved of air.

I have cut 2 big 92mm holes in the bottom of the case to let the air in. They have the same grill as the back of the computer and should not really be visible.

I think it looks good but it is not the original bref of “No external changes apart from what is in the PCI Case slots”

    Update 7#

I have completely changed the way the mounting plate works. Now it’s glued onto the inner case and the outer case is screwed on last.

It's hard to explain. I hope the pictures help.

Basically now I can see the cables on the back of the mounting plate and there are no visible screws holding it in place.

I am however losing a little rigidity over all as the inner case can only be screwed onto the outer case on one side.

It always amazed me that they could make a mesh case that overheated.
Do what you must to it. You can only improve the design.

4 years..... Better late then never

I just got over this not being done..

There are to many things that didn't work. Just makes me sad to think about. Including the focus of the camera... sorry.

4 years is nothing here. MonkeyPuzzle's Hush is on the 15 year mark.
You need to post some proper still pics, though.

Also funny story. While doing the last thing I will probably even do with the silicone insert for bending the hardline, as I was pulling it out was the only time it snapped and I punched myself really hard in the side of the head / jaw. I have taken bigger hits before but I clocked myself quite well.

Literally the last thing I did with that thing and it paid me back for all the stretching and heat I had given it.

"Here is something to remember me by you D&^khead!"
