Hello boys and (as far as I can remember only one active) girl.

I am in need of some nice and thin fans to go under the top panel (inbetween the top of the metal casing and under the mesh grill) of a cm690. After a few deep scans of the net I have found that I need 20mm deep fans, as using standard 25s would mean a little bit of modification to the top of the case.

Yate loon do some 120x120x20mms, but the only place I can find them is kustom PCs, but they seem to be nearly double the price of most other yate loons, I do not know if this is just kustom PCs or its because they are thin.

Does anyone know where I can get either 14cm or 12cm 20mm thick fans, preferably slow spinning and without LEDs, but 5 volts and some modding could do that.

    Cheers

Oh and I forgot to mention that I would rather if they were green UV, or green LED and I will take the LEDs out.
Edit 2: After looking around, some are saying that these 20mm yate loons are actually 25mm and its a misprint on the site. But this would make them exactly the same as another model so I am sceptical.

I have mine inside the case (ie screwed down from the metal top of the case) and they work fine. No messing about with super-thin fans for me!

    Just found a pic:

    Cheers for the pic badders.

I wasn't clear (ie didn't even mention) on my reasoning behind the fans. I am going to be running a 240 rad on the roof with some fans under the mesh pulling through.

    Aha!
I had a look at this before - you might come a cropper with hole centres (as it's 2x140mm next to eachother, as opposed to 2x120 as a 240 rad is) unless you're willing to drill your own!

You've probably realised already, but though I'd mention it as I didn't!

Yate Loon makes a 120x20mm 'thin' fan that works wonderfully. Model #s are D12SL-12C (low speed) and D12SM-12C (medium). Good luck!

    You sir are a legend.

I could not find that even after searching the model number. Well done.

The case should be here tomorrow so I will inspect and order a pair if needs be.

    Thanks for that.

I also put in a recommendation for ChilledPC, they have excellent service and (for once) realistically low postage prices!
    Good find Joerkerh.

Just to let you know, kind of aimed at you, badders.

If you mount the rad sort of in the 14cm fan hole the one closest to the front and side (the good side) of the case then you can line up the rad with the grills to screw it through.

I am currently running it with the top off with some fans sitting on top while I wait for the slim yates. I was originally going to mount them on top inside the mesh bit and cut away the bit of plastic in the middle, but I have measured it and they will fit internally onto the rad. Its tight but they will fit, I have an old broke 140x140x20mm that I have slotted in to test.

The xspc rad that I am using is 35mm deep, so if you were to get a black ice stealth or something similar which are around 29/30mm plus a slim fan you would have bags of room, you could even get away with a normal depth fan.

And if you are bothered about the spacing you could do 2 x 120 rads, could look cool.

    Edit: woop 1000th post.
