Just bin speaking to me brother whos got an SLK 947 on Abit NF7-s with a 2500 barton @ 2.1 ghz 1.55v full load (toast) his temps are 54°C which seems quite high... case temps are 25°C in antec sonata..
    he's using AS3 and bios dated 24/7/2003
fan is a 92mm panaflo (about 50 odd cfm i tihnk, its from the shop on ebay anyways)
Just seems to high TBH (1800 in sig gets to about 43°C load)... He says everything is seated ok, and that a couple of months ago the temps were 48°C @ 2.2 ghz...
Fan is sucking air, he's tried it blowing and the temps are higher.

If he has one of the older bartons ( ie. the first mask made ) those run pretty hot. Is he sure about that voltage? Because the stock vcore for Barton's is 1.65v. I haven't been in the loop for the past month or so, but back then ALL bartons were still stock 1.65v. They could have released a new stepping I guess..

Its a reasonably late one, he's had it about 2 months and it was quite recent date then..
Yeah stock voltage is 1.65, but his does 2.1 on 1.55v...
