Anyone know how much a slimline slotloader would be? It doesn't even have to be DVD, but I want it to be slotloading. I want to try a mod with three slimline drives in a single 5.25" bay.

I dont think there are any. I think the physical logistics wouldnt work. Theres really no room for everything. The Mac PowerBook has one (i think, im not to big on macs), but i dont think you can buy those as they are built into the laptop...

Lol... in my search to prove they exist, I've found where to buy them :)

You can get them from mini-itx.com for £163 inc. VAT :eeek: CD-RW/DVD-ROM combo

If you just want multiple cds in one bay try a Nakamichi 5disc changer since you'll only need one IDE cable, oh look I have one right here! :) very rarely will you find an IDE-ATAPI version on ebay, but they are there, Panasonic makes one as well but is fugly, NEC used to make them too but I think 12x was the highest they went, these are not for DAE

    hydrogen18, it's actually 17.5%... lucky us, eh?
Zero_Distortion, I wanted the look of three slots in one bay, it didn't cross my mind that I would need three connections... how irritating :sigh:

Unlikely esp on such a small order - none of our customers ever have been charged import duty - UK customs don't charge duty - just VAT :(

Yes no duty on PCs or PC parts. Always ask a supplier to mark goods as such.

sorry to bring yours hopes down, that does sound interesting though, a slimline dvd and a cd-rw would be great in like an HTPC

btw fatty those NEC drives are not that great and I think the highest they went to was 12x (not sure) either way the Nakamichi, Panasonic and NEC units all use the Nakamichi drive mechanism so it's all the same and comes down to which looks better (Nakamichi has 5 blue lights, one for each CD)
