Wasn't sure what section this should go in,

Always wanted to try one of these and we're a bit quiet so got a T-rex cut out and just need to Tack it together and get Acid Blacked or possibly nickel plated not decided yet.

    6mm Thick CR4 Steel.

I found the plans online along with some others and plan to make another T-Rex twice as big :) and also some other creatures :D

    Anyone want one ?

    Morgan.

That is awesome. I'd love one, but I don't think I'd have anywhere to put it. :(

That's beautiful. What does it weigh? (and how much do you want for one?)

I made something similar but in MDF. I wonder how the pterodactyl would fare in steel...

Thank you, I am very impressed with how its looking so far, I'll work out some costs if more people want in, I'm not sure on the exact weight but it is pretty heavy I would say around 20kGs at a rough guess.

The Pterodactyl would weight a ton at that scale I don't think you would want it from your ceiling but I'll look at scaling it down and see what it comes out at :).

When I was a kid, I collected a bunch of dinosaur magazines which gave you a part each week to make a plastic skeleton that looks almost exactly like what you have made there.

Yup I had that all the way in New Zealand.

I would also potentially be interested in this. Especially if its still deconstruct-able.

Only if you don't weld it together, it does stay pretty well together the only issue is the tail & spine pieces due to the weight of the head they slide apart everything else is fine I guess I could try and fit a small clip to keep them together.

Yes but then the price of material will double, did it out of steel because its cheap & it lasers the cleanest, ali does cut really clean but it still needs some finishing where as steel comes straight off the laser burr free & looking shiny.

I'll weigh it on Monday when its all welded and assembled.

I wont be making a skin lol maybe if I had a really big 3D printing that could be possible :).
