I recently reinstalled win 7 on my pc as it had been a long time since I'd last done it. One of the reasons for doing it was that benches on my 840 evo were below what they should have been and once I had completed the reinstall they were back where they should be, The only thing is when I bring the pc out of sleep, once I see the desktop I can't do anything for up to 10 seconds, the mouse pointer moves and if I click on anything nothing happens, well I say nothing, whatever I click on happens but only after about 10 secs when the system becomes responsive. Is it worth reinstalling as I never had this issue before, one thing worth mentioning is I did update the firmware to the latest before I reinstalled.
Did you update the disk controller/chipset driver? I had such problems on a system until I installed the proper intel drivers... the MS generic ones included on OS are sometimes odd this way I find.
Yeh I did this. I must admit I hadn't done so in the past though. I will scan again though and make sure all is well.
Are you 100% it's resuming from sleep and not hibernation? Try disable with " powercfg -h off " from admin cmd, reboot and check it again.
Do you have any mechanical drives in the PC? My PC can be a bit slow to wake [but still not 10 seconds slow iirc], and most of that is waiting for the HDDs to spin up...
Yes I have one hdd but I can't see it being that as the OS is on the SSD and it wasn't doing it before the reinstall.
