Peripherals Small electronic plug repair?

    Well I'm sure you've all done this before, ie, you have a small plug for something who knows what, case fan or something of the like. and the gouge up one of the cables for the plug, right at the plug, because the darn plug has nearly welded itself in place.

    Now my usual repair is butt connectors, electrical tape, and lots of swearing for the teeny ones...

    Anyone else care to outline their usual fix?

    Reason I ask is I finally got around to breaking down my 2.5 year old samsung 906bw monitor that stopped working, and bunged up one of the connectors(ie wire is visible through sheath but not broken), but I found the bad cap in the process so its a win I guess :D

    Solder and heatshrink, I guess. Or crimp a new connector.
