if you have to ask you cant afford it....

a little on the expensive side, and I think they try to sell in quantities...

called single board computers or buscuit computers, you are almost better off to buy an eden or a shuttle board. they arent much biggere....

Some of those bicuit pc's like from Advantech are REALLY small. Like the same footprint as a 3-1/2" drive. Mainly industrial stuff ie:not a lot of processing power but pretty indistructable. And usually about $250-$500. I have seen someon eBay tho.

hmmm, yeah, a bit expensive for what you actually get in terms of power...

ok then, what about the slightly bigger eden boards (only really after a 600-800Mhz machine) - anyone know where in the UK i could get one

and also one of those really small PSU's (the kind that has half the circuit inside the pc, and the main bit of the transformer outside)

Mini ITX is a good idea if you are looking for something around that size
    check mini-itx.com and also ultim8pc

Mini-ITX is 170mmx170mm quite small and not too pricey.
    Give it a look

Yeah, those 3.5" sized SBCs generally cost about £200 at the cheapest (eg. a 33MHz 486 SX :sigh: ) if you're just buying one.

looks like i'm gonna end up ordering a EPIA v8000 (same price as the 533Mhz one, but this is 800Mhz and actively cooled)

just need to work on a mini-mini-mini tower case design...hmmm
