    Greetings BT,

I was doing another one of my hare-brained project ideas, and was wondering what was out there in terms of nano-itx or similar sized boards.

A: I need 4x sata ports with raid, or at least PCI/PCI-e expansion so I can stick a raid card on there.

    B: gigabit LAN

this is a really small NAS build. anyone seen anything similar to my requirements out there?

I cannot seem to find a nano-itx board with gigabit lan.
The most powerfull nano-ITX I did find was a 1.5 GHz VIA here. It does have a mini-PCI expansion slot, but I think your SATA RAID capabilities is limited on that.
If you want something more exotic, Kontron makes some dual-core intel based boards.
They have two C2D versions matching your specs. Linky1 Linky2 I have no idea how to power them though, and I think a ITX board would be cheaper.

If you want to go the ITX way, Zotac have several that fits your criterias:
Atom based with 3 SATA ports.
Socket 775 based with 5 SATA ports.
Socket 1156 based with 6 SATA ports.
They all have a PCIe 16x explansion slot as well.

    Happy hunting!

    I came across CompuLab.
They might have something you could use.
