A sad day for boxing as Joe Frazer dies at the age of 67. Great legend and a great boxer, had some terrific fights especially with George Foreman and Mohammed Ali. These were the guys who made boxing what it is today, he will be missed R.I.P Joe! BBC sport
RIP Joe Frazier One of boxing's great legends, and one of my all-time sporting heroes, has sadly passed away. Joe Frazier, also known as "Smokin' Joe", died yesterday aged 67 years. He died of liver cancer. For those of us who are boxing fans, I'm sure Frazier will be fondly remembered. Even for those who dislike boxing, they cannot take away the fact that Frazier was a world class sportsman. He is most well known for his three fights with Muhammed Ali, the first two resulting in Ali winning. Then in his third fight with Ali, dubbed the "Thrilla in Manila", he won the fight, and became the heavyweight champion of the world. He faced insults and taunts from Ali, but finally gained the upper hand. This is one fight that is often seen as THE best boxing match in history, and I would agree. Also, the famous left hook that floored Ali was one punch that earned it's place in boxing history. RIP Smokin' Joe
Do you mean "The Fight of the Century" which was the first fight between Frazier and Ali which Frazier Won by Unanimous Decision, as far as I knew he lost the second two fights against Ali.
He was defiantly from what I consider to be the golden age of heavy weight boxing, hard as nails. In any other time he would have with out a doubt dominated the division..R.I.P Joe
It's really been a dark couple of week for sport, indycar, then Marco Simoncelli, now Frazer... RIP Smokin' Joe
