Having a bit of a problem with my SN45G, Im getting errors in a few games after a while of play, sometimes the sound will go funny, with crackling on certain sounds, and it has ocasionally reset itself...

Running with the chasis off, (as it wont fit over my GPU cooler), the cpu is running at 52degrees (2500+), but... one of the heatsinks on the motherboard itself is rather hot to touch, Im guesing its one of the chipsets... Im no expert, more of a n00b

So... Any help as to what my problem might be?, Anyone had the same probs?

If it's already got a heatsink on it, it's probably the northbridge. There are other cooling options for the northbridge, I know Zalman offer a very good, and passive cooler, here. There are many other options, but I would think the Zalman will offer fine cooling, at a decent price (there are places much cheaper than Tiger Direct, and on your side of the pond, just the first thing Froogle came up with), and should fix your problems :).

The chips you're probably feeling are your MOSFETS (smooth, black chips along the right edge). They're designed to run hot so cooling isn't essential.

    The two in question...

    Nforce2 MCP-T and NFORCE2 Ultra 400

Thats how its marked out in the manual, As I cant really be bothered to take out the graphics card / hard drive / cdrom to look myself

have you run memtest your ram may be faulty. When I had faulty ram I had weird sound glitches and resets in games.
