has anyone got either a sn85g4 or sn41g2. i was originally going to just upgrade my desktop pc but now i thought about gettin a shuttle. which of these 2 would be better. the one can hav a 64 in it but the other can have dual channel memory. Also will a 9800 pro fit ok in either of these, i dont want to have to run it with the case off.

    cheers for ya help

I have a SN41G2-V2 and it is a great box. A 9800 Pro will work in it, no problem.
I just don't personaly see the point in buying a 64 bit system when there is no 64 bit software. :duh:
From a "Bang for the Buck" standpoint, the 41V2 has it hands down. :thumb:

    my v2 rocks :D:D:D
just have it 3 days now and its working perfect with my tbred b 2600+ & club-3d 9800 pro...

    the temps are amazingly good:
    proc around 48
    case around 40
    powersupply around 44

I always have my fans on ultra-low and thats really quiet.
Only the chipset fan is loud but i'm gonna get it off because i dont use the onboard graphics.

I'm gonna place a silent 6cm fan next to my vga for a better airflow and maybe im gonna cut out the roster @ the cpu fan outtake

i've had a sn41g2 and i have a sn85g4. The sn85g4 is brilliant, appart from some issues i had with the bios when i first got it. I'd wait a couple of months before upgrading however, as shuttle are releasing a new athlon 64 shuttle that sounds pretty decent. (shud be out v soon).

The 41g2 was also good. Depends if you can warrent / afford the extra money for the athlon 64 route, as both the cpu's and shuttles are more expensive.

Have had both... I build SN41G2's if anyone wants a solid PC for surfing/light gaming, but you need the Silent-X 240W PSU to run a 9800Pro/Xt and a Gig of ram for long lanparty stints. Also consider the SN45G if you stick to the 32bit route (but with the 240W PSU)

Who cares if there isnt any 64bit s/w there will be soon, I have run the XP-64 Beta and its OK (no good ATI drivers though). But the benchmarks with XP-32bit are good enough for me, it runs cooler than the XP3200 in a shuttle too. It also comes with the 240W PSU as standard.

I dont think anyone buys an A64 for 64bit software. It's native is 32 anyway.
