Why then, is the v3 cheaper everywhere? If it has more core support and such? Just trying to figure this out

    Thanks

the front ports don't work, the SATA interface will not boot and if I place two 512 mb sticks of ram in the machine I get no post nothing just fans running at max.
Ontop of that weirdly changing any piece of hardware, for example swapping DVD drives requires the mains plug to be disconnected afterwards - or No boot/post.

Have a search online and you'll find that the v1 have had alot of returns and replacements which I believe the v3 has fixed, white adding more core support and several other things too.

    Good kit - just variable.

The SN95G5 v3 will support the new AMD dual core chips. Shuttle said they will release an update for it very soon. Linky

    SN95G5

    -----------------

The difference is that the V3 has a hardware update.
The main difference is CPU support. The V2 does not
    support E-Stepping.
V3 is compatible with the new E-Stepping CPU's (including x2 Dual core) and V2 does not!
    Hope this helps you. :D

    kind regards

    v1.3 supports dual core....
complaints about ram are becuase the user is generally using poor quality ram..
the V3 hardware firewall is crap and can cause bluescreens...

just thought i'd clear up somethings there
