Well it was nice and bright and sunny till about 4.30pm, then all hell broke loose with hail and rain, and allsorts of precipitation-based goodness... but no snow. Boo... this sucks, I wanted the day off today.... Joe
Well snow closed my school yesterday and ice closed it today - these are closures because: a) if a pupil slips over and is seriously hurt we'd get a huge amount of verbal from parents and lawsuits are a pain in the ass (this year we kept our sponsored walk going despite forecasts of rain - one of the interns was struck by lightning! - don't want to make that mistake again) b) A lot of the kids will stay home which would hit attendance figures if we opened c) A lot of staff commute 20+ miles so we'd be on skeleton staff and nobody wants that when snow is on the ground
about 4 inches of snow at school...so we all took the afternoon off and had several massive snowball fights for a few hours. Some teachers got a go-kart + snowboard out. I made "skis" with skateboards minus trucks, but wasn't allowed to use them .
OMG SNOW! Ok so it snowed slightly over the last few days, nothing to worry about and nothing that bad really, but tonight ZOMG. Can you say slip and slide? The main roads were drivable just, still got some spinning action on them, but get to one of the main roads near me, thats steep as anything and its backed up for ages,i was lucky to get to turn off at the road i needed too, 5 mins later and i would have to turn it around. Its backed up up the hill, and people are either going down at 5mph, or parking up and abandoning there cars, stopping a bus from going down, full gridlock! I was wheelspinning as soon as i turned off this main road, and fortunately its quiet near me, so a quick hand brake slide left me sideways in the road with the biggest smile on my face!! I was concerned however and left the mini parked up a bit from home to avoid the downhill sliding that would've occured to my driveway, though ive been back to get him safely on the drive and out of harms way and covered up! Looks like i'll be walking to work tomorrow! Is this happening anywhere else?
The Japanese know what to do: http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/09/yuki-taro-chrews-through-snow-chunks-out-ice-cubes/
Well, we had a 500 person snowball fight that ended up in some people getting arrested for fighting with chavs. we broke some car windows, blood was shed, and PWNAGE was laid down by yours truely
Quoted For Truth & became "chavs" in the process? Other than that (damage, fights, etc) it sounds like fun.
I agree with nexxo. I cycled to my lectures in the snow. I could barely steer the damned thing and braking really wasn't an option, there was no cycle path left because all the snow that was on the road ended up in a massive pile on the side. That didn't stop me keep going.
hahaha you people and not knowing how to drive in the snow... come to michigan where we can have a foot of snow and the schools still be open.
