I'm not that much of a poster, but I have been a long time lurker and read a lot of your posts and have been delighted, bored, enlightend, annoyed and amused by them. I also kinda understands what you mean.

It's this sort of comment that ruins Bit-Tech. Why do people feel the need to start flaming as soon as their identity can be hidden? Grow Up!

 

An absolute top man from what I've seen. Anyone that can take on a bus gets my respect.

On a side not; just yesterday experienced what you were talking about with sarcy comments, totally killed a thread where i was looking for help.

Oh I'm part of that group. I hope I'm not ruining Bit-Tech. Bit-Tech is like my second love, I'd hate to think I was one of the reasons the old regulars were leaving.

There's one user there that's a bit of a PITA but I bear them no grudge, I think they fancy me and don't know how to express it so and try and rub me up the wrong way. I quite like it actually.

 

I can relate to almost all of this post, Unicorn.

I have been lurking a LOT more. Some serious wagging with no message going on in quite a few posts.

Im not sure how that would help i mean you would just be covered in cement....

That seems ignorant idea to me and would only end up causing frustration in the reciever of the cement.

The fact you have no idea who "Mankz" is is an prime example of what he is talking about your new and you have no idea that there is a foundation of forum members like Mankz, Uni etc etc (im too tired to list names) who are old timers and everbody recognizes them

(Uni at this second is checking through my post and fixing all the errors)

If a few crappy posts of mine happen to be what is driving you away from this forum then i won't bother posting anything my own stuff pisses me off to read it so i understand what other people might think.

They happen to be a good bunch of like minded people.

It is sad when someone feels they have to leave for some reason so good luck in the future mate

 

Could we get some actual names? Naming the entire group (I know you said not all) makes me for one feel I have done something wrong which I am not aware of.

Im not sure it would do any good having people singled out i think you should have a pretty good idea if its you or not (like i do)

Well, I haven't been here for long at all and I'm a bit of a lurker, frequenting only a few threads, but I'm not lying when I say I'm sad to see an awesome member like Mankz leave. I've been reading through piles of old threads and laughed myself silly with all the hilarious posts you people have made. It seems like the old Bit-Tech was one of the best forums in the world, with supportive and often hilarious members adding value with every post they typed.

This is the new Bit-Tech however, and though it truly seems like a lot has changed in the past years, we as a community shouldn't just stand by, watching and commenting on all the bad changes happening before our eyes - we should be actively improving the whole ourselves.
I think if everyone around here just asks himself (just ask, nothing more) "Do I add something to this community?", everything would improve a whole lot already. (I'm talking to the relatively "new" members like me of course)
We need to remember that trolls exist only to be ignored and, while there certainly is a time and place for lame jokes or funny insults, this is primarily a place for serious discussion or(/and?) genuine awesomeness.

Up till now, I - as I've said already - haven't been a valuable member at all during the wonderful time I've spent here. That's going to change. I'm going to add value too, for I don't want this forum, that I've loved since the very day I discovered it, to change into some bland posturlulz flame interwebsite. Bit has fuelled my passion for PC gaming, modding and whatnot. It has given me many interesting discussions and viewpoints that I otherwise would have never even heard or known about. It has given me an absolutely enormous imagefolder and it has made me laugh to tears more times than can be counted.

I'm not saying or insinuating in any way that Bit has already become a bland forum (this still is one of the best forums of the whole interwebs ), but - just to be sure - we shouldn't let that happen.

 

If you are leaving then surely you can just post a list of the people that have caused this and what each of them has done? Better than posting a group that seems to have some people that are genuinely helpful members.

 

Just been reading this thread sad indeed I've not posted much here so I don't know anyone here or anyone involved but it seems to me that a couple of people clash and don't agree with each other ( Hay it happens that's life ) But in this case one is holding a grudge so he feels he has to leave the forum.
Seems a bit infantile to me.

I agree with Mankz about the quality of the site, reviews are aweful and i got hyperlinked to engadget when i spotted 'Leaked Intel roadmap hints at Ivy Bridge's future'

Thats fecking lazy and poor, mere site padding!

But regards to the forum, (The life blood of Bit-tech) I have been ranting for years about 'the issues' however, being much wiser now i understand that people come and go over time.

I tend to lurk more these days since I am still rocking tech from 2007/08 era so i can't really contribute in the Hardware section like i use to.

Bit-tech still has a community, and i shall forever drop by whilst its still here, and maybe in the near future become more active.

 

I'm in that group Mankz, I just hope I'm not one of the people that's done such a thing.

On your note, it's very sad to see you go, and I can fully understand your reasons for doing so. You'll be missed, as will your gaiting.
