Ah wtf, that's lame as! That sounds very Microsoftish!

    Have you considered fb marketplace?

I don't do social media myself but I know it's usually way cheaper than gumtree ebay etc?

I decided to revisit the Mass Effect series and am doing a play through of the games in order, just finished the first game last night and started the replay through Mass Effect 2.
Also playing a bit of Satisfactory again as they've done a few big updates since I last played.

That bundle is pretty much what triggered my return to the series.

    Spacehulk: Tactics

Dunno what it is about this game, but it's stupidly addictive. Been missing out on a couple hours' sleep for the last 2-3 nights :worried:.

My assault cannon guy jammed and blew himself up - don't think I've ever seen that happen before. Luckily, I'm a save scummer, so no worries.

loving The Callisto Protocol (I'm die hard Dead Space whore anyway so anything similar by them is an easy win for me haha!) and the Resi 4 remake is superb!

I've got the original but need to check this one out.

Two things I have never really got my head around though:
    • how claws get through ceramite
    • when facing things with claws that can get through ceramite, why on earth would you not put your hat on?

That is something that I have always wondered ever since playing the first edition of the tabletop version back in the late 80s. I know the aim of the game was to evoke the tension and urgency of the Alien film in that at any point your marines could be ripped apart and there was the eek moment of getting a jam and the genestealer getting closer, but still, all the floof on the terminator suits was all about how impenetrable they are and how they are made for siege and boarding actions, and then you have some weird 6 armed gribbly that can stick a finger through it as it runs past with seemingly no more difficulty than wet cardboard.

    First one I can't answer but the second;
    1. Looks cooler.
    2. Hat does nothing, as the claws can just rip through.

:hehe: This did make me laugh!
Also another good point raised - they don't exactly go on these missions with the most reliable gear, do they? "Dave - that bolter you gave me last go-around kept jamming. Can you have a look at it, mate? Got another mission on Monday."
It does stop space dust getting in your eyes though. And no-one can see you cry when you get a gribbly finger shoved in your tum-tum.

Lately, Matthew, when not thinking about space gribblies or unjamming my sidearm, I have been playing Duet.

It is the very definition of "one more go". No PRNGs, no one-shot-kill baddies, no "do this three times, then this three times" bosses to beat. Nothing but your own skill that sees you succeed or (more likely) fail (often). Using left and right on one thumbstick only. If you don't get through a level, that's purely on you. Sometimes you get in the zone, get that little bit further; other times (like when I tried yesterday's daily challenge with the invisible blocks) it just gets too much and you have to admit defeat.

I only stuck it on yesterday to smash out the challenge - should have been about twenty minutes or so but after an hour and a half or more I acknowledged the game was the winner. Which was worse given I was almost at the end of stage 3 of 3, but I just couldn't get it over the line. Probably didn't help that each failure was dealt with with a swig, so I was doubtless getting progressively less able. Anyway, it's rather cheap and is a very worthwhile flow-state, zen-inducing thrown gauntlet.

But I'm not going to attempt the "Perfect" achievements. They can do one.

EDIT: I also defy you to play this without your feet twitching under the desk like a man on a noose.

EDIT EDIT: I just finished it! Story mode, at least. There's quite a bit more.

Hopping back in and out of No Man's Sky again. Been hunting around for the new Sentinel salvage ships. Got my hunting technique down pretty well now, can easily rattle through 5 or 6 in a pretty short amount of time, providing that the drops of the item I need to kick things off goes well of course. Still have yet to find the exact one that I want, bit I'll get there.

Got back into Warface (console) again. I used to play it years ago on 360. I did play the XB1 version for a bit when it launched, but I think I was already deep into Destiny at the time so didn't really play it much. After losing my love for Destiny 2 I just wanted to play a super basic (being free helps) FPS where I don't need to think too much and Warface scratches that itch so well. It's not a good game at all and the monetization is super aggressive, but there's just something fun about it that I can't even explain. I can just get on, go shoot some people for a few hours, laugh a lot, and then go play something else.

I'm a little bit worried about it on Xbox now as all the My.Games titles got removed from the store, so nothing that involves the store (including re/downloading) works for Warface on Xbox at the moment. It's been weeks and no word, so... I don't know if it's going to ever be fixed. Maybe they're going to kill it again like they did on 360. So I'm making the most of it while it's here.

Ghostwire Tokyo got added to Game Pass, so I gave it a quick go last night. Didn't grab me, and it's confirmed that I basically can't play first-person games any more - immediate simulator sickness.

So, I'mma put whatever gaming time I can scrounge up into Loop Hero instead, which is both fun and doesn't make me feel 'ick. 's one of the only pixel-art games I can think of that remembers old computers didn't just have chunky pixels but worked with a restricted colour palette too...

On my one-level-per-day quest for MS Points in the app, I appear to have hit the lofty heights of 89,697,930 in Jewel Thief. I'm adding "Thief" at the end because it still pilfers more of my time than a game of this ilk should. Those marketing guys REALLY knew what they were doing with their points and achievements and Gamerscore.

Ha! Now THAT would be a time sink I haven't yet gone down the plughole of. Although saying that, I do use it an inordinate amount for a supposed tech-savvy(ish) professional...

I think my main tools are Edge, Paint and Excel and those run the economy. I could send you a jpeg per day, but I'd need a daily theme .
