I somehow got back into Subnautica: Below Zero. Definitely has its flaws compared to the first game. The Sea Truck is a bit of a crappy vehicle, I much preferred the Cyclops and the Sea Moth. There’s a massive over-reliance on lead, which cannot be gained in large quantities. But the biggest complaint I have - and this goes for both Subnautica games - is the lack of in-game map. I know it’s a deliberate design choice, but it ruins the suspension of disbelief IMO. This far-future version of humanity has mastered inter-stellar travel. It has invented replicators - machines that can create complex machinery and materials from a handful of raw components. I even have a hand-held replicator that can spawn massive structures into being. Are you seriously telling me that a civilisation this advanced is incapable of developing a freakin’ mapping system?! In comparison to this version of humanity, we are basically primates banging rocks together, and yet my phone - my bloody phone - has a LIDAR scanner in it! Deep breath… I am enjoying it nonetheless . I think I’m pretty much at the point I got to last time, so it’ll be good to get this one finished and checked off the list
Consider that one checked off. Yeah, I did enjoy that one. Nowhere near as tense as the first game, and not nearly as many deep and terrifyingly black caverns. But enjoyable nonetheless.
Lego Marvels 2 and also Movie 2 now complete. Both due to be booted off PSPlus later this month, so thought I'd get them done. The other two going are MotoGP'24, which I'm not fussed, but I'd love to give Walkabout Golf in VR at least a quick go.
