The Witcher 3 is up there with my top games off all time. The main game and all the expansions are simply sublime.
Witcher 3 is potentially one of the outright best games I've ever played, very few other games have dragged me in and immersed me in the world to the same degree as that game, the fact that decisions had weight, and that what appeared to be a better path turned out to be far darker one sometimes really lent weight to the world - it is not all happy endings. Personally; I'm still testing my patience on Dark Souls 3, I'm two bosses short of the end of the game, and the current Penultimate one is just destroying me, I may be here for a while.
Adam Jensen would be the WORST guest to have ever: 1) He would grab all your booze and CPUs lying around and sell them to the local arms dealer. 2) Instead of using the door to get into the bathroom, he'll just punch a wall from the kitchen to get there instead. 3) Hacks and read all your emails like the nosy ******* he is, or leave your computer in a lockdown state. 4) Clears out your secret safe 5) Leave the tap running on anything with a tap 6) Opens all your windows for no apparent reason. 7) Kicks any bins you have lying around. 8) Moves your fridge to have a look behind it, then throws it across the room for the lulz. 9) Uses his CASIE on you to weasel out of paying any damages.
You're right! I'm usually fairly skeptical of early access titles as I've been burned by a couple of them (I got them cheap, but it's the principle of the thing!) but Everspace has so far proved worth the risk. It's the most I've dropped on an early access title, so I'm hoping they don't change it in negative ways. It looks pretty good, is (mostly) stable - I've had one crash - and is like a cross between FTL and Freespace, which makes me happy. Not got to the 'end' yet... keep dying stupidly. Also enjoying/ed SPAZ2, which aside from being the most horrendously unfair game I've played in a while once someone puts a bounty on you, has been amazing fun. It's better than SPAZ in almost every way. 10) Uses non-lethal (but still damned painful) takedown on you because he wanted to go through your pockets...
So, so much Forza Horizon 3. My system can barely run it, it's got all sorts of port problems, and the in-game music streaming is a pack of lies, but it's such a mechanically good game, I've not played an open world racing game this enjoyable since I last hit up Most Wanted for Nostalgia. If ever another source for the game opens up where it's not nearly 50 quid; Leap at it. The performance is improving, the car selection expanding, and the game plays so very nicely outside of the bugs.
Rarely buy games on release day but noticed I had a bit of cash in my Steam wallet so bought Shadow Warrior 2 and also bought Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain as that was a special on a game store site i use.
Dealing with vendors in Deus Ex MD: Customer: Hello. Vendor: F**K YOU! HOW DARE YOU F**KING TALK TO ME! I F**KING HATE YOUR FACE! Customer: I'll see what you've got. Vendor: YOU C**T! F**KING BUY SOMETHING! Customer buys and sells a few things, then logs off Vendor: F**KING WASTE OF MY F**KING TIME! GO F**K OFF, THEN F**KING COME BACK SO I CAN TELL YOU TO F**K OFF AGAIN! Customer: I'm done for now, thanks. Vendor: WELL F**K OFF THEN! I F**KING HOPE YOU DIE! COME BACK SOON YOU C**T! Apologies for the foul language, but that's what it's like...
Tropico 5. While it's not grabbed me the way 4 did, I'm still enjoying it. Waiting until the Complete Edition was released was sensible - I'd have been pretty annoyed if I'd bought it release day as it seems like half the game is DLC...
Shadow Warrior 2 Pretty much go somewhere, kill a bunch of monsters, find the something, return to wherever wants it, rinse and repeat. The devs even copied and pasted large areas so you are pretty much fighting in the same place over and over again. if you can get it cheap then a great time waster. Gears of War 4 Only played the first couple of chapters given the complete farce it was to download the game. So far great fun.
Gears of War 4 Absolute balls to the wall, dumb, unadulterated manly fun. I love the fact that even the horses in the GoW universe seem to take copious amounts of steroids. Currently somewhere in the middle of the second act, but the prologue was astounding - the ending of which has you facing a stupid amount of enemies in a last stand situation, the scale of which I've never experienced in a game before. I'm liking this!
I am liking this too now that I managed to get past the Act 2 Chapter 2 crash to desktop issue. Not sure that I agree with "stupid amount of enemies" sentiment as Serious Sam the First and Second Encounters beat GoW 4 by far. What I don't like is being saddled with the pistol which is pretty useless and you cannot swap it over and what is it with having to find ammo every couple of shots with some weapons? I have not really bonded with any particular weapon yet. The killer shotgun is pretty good but little ammo, the sniper weapon is silly as is the long shot, not sure that I am ever going to use the saw attachment on one weapon either. Good as it is I still will not be buying another Windows Store game until they sort out the delivery system. i read somewhere that Microsoft want to challenge Steam, yeah right. That is never going to happen any time soon if ever.
Just finished: Call of Duty Advanced Warfare That was good fun. Been a while since I enjoyed a shooter that much.
Prison Architect Annoyingly addictive but took me too long to spot the hole in the premier fence so they ended up dying in their cells of starvation, lack of sleep and needing the toilet. Slowly learning though, messing about in sandbox mode at the moment learning the ropes.
Lucky boy! I signed up for that closed beta but no invite thus far. Loved playing gwent in the main game.
I am yet again having a nightmare downloading GoW 4 following a fresh install of Windows 10 never again will I suffer this crap from Microsoft no matter how good the game is.
So what are you playing now? Well certainly not Gears of War 4. After a fresh install of windows 10 bought on prematurely by a crash whilst playing Gears of War 4, which took 2 days to download and install, and then refused to load after the crash I decided a fresh install of Windows was the way to go. How wrong could I have been With Windows 10 fully updated the download speed of GoW 4 is akin to pouring treacle in the middle of winter. I am not the only one with this issue yet there has been nothing from Microsoft and all I got from the Asian customer service rep when eventually I found someone to voice my complaint all I was told was that a fix is being worked on and I will just need to be patient. Yet Microsoft had exactly the same issue with Forza so why is there still an issue? Did I not read somewhere that Microsoft want to rival Steam? Not in my life time. With Steam download is a breeze, any issues then it is simplicity itself to verify game files and reinstallation is also simple everything that Microsoft Store is not. When are Microsoft going to sort this issue out? Edit: Thought I was going to make it but it decided at 53Gb to reset itself and then would not install on the SSD as there was not enough room which is odd seeing as there is 208Gb of space and the download was only 53Gb but I was left with 69Gb, work that one out. And thanks Microsoft but the app store is very tricky to access so in the end I reinstalled Windows for the third time in two days and have move app storage elsewhere. Lets try again. Edit: After 5 days and three installs of Windows 10 I finally got the game installed. Only good thing is that saves must be cloud based as I did not have to restart the game again. But this has been a most unpleasant experience made ironic by my receipt of an email containing this promise from Microsoft. "Best platform for game broadcasting and for 4K gaming and Xbox Live and Windows 10 take you to the next level of epic with 4K gaming. Not in my lifetime I fear. Anyway back to the killing.
Shadow Warrior 2 Feels like the first one (the reboot that is) so all's good. Very pretty and I have a chainsaw katana (preorder Cheesecake). Yup, enjoying this too!
