IMO the pro evo series is the way forward ;)
Fifa is more of an arcade game, lots of button mashing. ISS is more of a simulation. You cant beat it. The good thing about FIFA is that they have the license to use real club names + teams, which is cool. You can patch up pro evo 3 to have all these but its a pain.
I cant wait for it to come out on xbox. I heard there might be a japanese version called winning 11 or something like that. I shall look into it...

5-8 player Pro Ev on the PS2 is quality, although a little laggy on the controls.

yep, sensi soccer still rules ;)

ive played fifa 2003, 2004 and the new uefa 2004 one

and so far i prefer 2003 out of those with uefa 2004 coming second as it's pretty good.

im still a bit pissed off that you cant get pro evo on the xbox, tius the only thing the console is missing...

International Superstar Soccer Pro 98 for the PSone :D

Play it all the time. I've not played any footie game better.

Need to try the PS2 updates though.

Spent hundreds of hours playing ISS on the N64 back in the day. Perfected the halfway line goal down to a tee...

Pro Evo Soccer is so good, but it just lacks the sort of glamour and gloss that FIFA has. Personally I think theres room in the world for both games, and I must admit to really quite enjoying FIFA 2004 on the PC...

I also have lots of great memories of playing Kick Off on the Amiga round my mates house, with our own world cups arranged on paper and played with 2 or 3 of out mates. Happy days. Rock hard game though.

    However....

Sensible Soccer > All other footy games

When we're talking about footy games, can we include management games too? Champ Manager... OMG.

I definitely could do with a new footie game. I've never enjoyed a Fifa game and don't give a **** about number of teams, real player names etc etc... So do I go for ISS3 or Pro Evo 3? Both are made by Konami it seems (which is quite strange).

Is Pro Evo similar in gameplay to the old ISS games?

Pro Evo is superb, and I think I am right in thinking ISS is no longer produced by the old ISS team. I've got ISS for the PS2 and it's very entertaining, not too difficult to play, looks decent, and has plenty of challenge. Pro Evo is a very tough game to pick up and play, and it is certainly not the sort of game I would recommend as a social game for people that don't already own it. It's very technical and very unforgiving. Having said that, it is also utterly brilliant and the only choice for the true footie fan.

very similar. You should definately check them out. Pro Evo 3 is newer but both are good. iss3 is probably more like what you are used to.

Nah, you can't play it like the game plays it, you can't play it and get your fun factor without working up a sweat (No, I'm not fat, I'm 5-10" and 125lbs or so).. I prefer to play soccer in games, because soccer irl is just kicking the ball around, not all of this special dribbling and stuff.

ROFLMAO! I have to agree. Getting out there and actually doing that stuff feels 10x better than watching some animated pixels fake it for me.

    Poor Hazza :(

Bleh, I'm not lazy, I just like playing soccer in games moreso than IRL!!
Is that possible for you to understand? I don't like soccer IRL, but I like playing it in games! I like hockey and golf IRL than I do soccer... ok? I hope my point has reached you guys.
