Socket AM2 Forward Compatible With AM3 CPUs

    I read that aswell.

    T'will be swish. The new roadmap looks quite superb aswell.

    And since ATi have DDR3 (NOT GDDR3) we may be seeing that on AM3 (kinda fits the naming pattern)

    So from that article and reading some of the links AM2 is only a stepping stone into the new processor war. I mean 2oo8 and a new socket will be out to support new stuff(read the k8l article) and Am3 even before that i mean im thinking it would be stupid to jump on the Am2 band wagon right now. Atleast that is what im getting from the articles. I mean Amd's answer to conroe(atleast conroe's supposid incredibly performance) wont be here till 2008 and it will have a new socket. That just makes me think Am2 really was only a jump into the DDr2 world and not anything to boost performance.

    Hum, AM3 hey :D But what will intel have up there sleeves, Conroe 2, or even 3, That would totaly blitz AMD, Conroe now wipes am2 out of the water, so AMD need to get there act to gether. Come on AMD, Hurry up and give us a mobile size chip like Intel (Conroe) have.

    hey all these intel fanboi's should thank amd for conroe! cos if it wasnt for amd they would still be banging out celeron 500mhz processors lol :rock:

    I think he's trying to say that without competition from AMD, intel would not have increased their products specifications so much.

    Couldn't of put it better myself

    The lineup looks great and DDR3 is not a dream anymore... lets hope that AMD can try and hold on to the widening gap developing in the market from the prospects of conroe and Intel's prices and range...

    I honestly hope Conroe SMASHES AMD when it comes out. Once they're on the bottom again, they get hungry and smart, and we benefit from it. Simple as that.
