I was wondering if anyone knows of a soft-ware KVM because I'm too lazy to buy a hard-ware KVM, plus to get a KVM that would work (more than 4 PC, with AT PS/2 and serial connections) would be pretty expensive... I know Synergy can act as a soft-ware keyboard and mouse switch, but that doesn't take care of the video side of things... I only have 1 monitor(well 1.5 if you count an old 15" PB that can only run 640x800 OR 1024x768 if you let it cut off the top and bottom of the picture....). L J
closest thing I can think of would be a remote connection software like dameware, vnc, or the dreaded netmeeting.
RealVNC RAdmin I have used both of them and both work well. RealVNC has lower CPU usage on the server side. But RAdmin is a little more responsive. RAdmin on the client side can also store the IP addresses of the different machines whereas with RealVNC you will have to either make a shortcut with the IP address as a switch or enter it manually each time.
