Linux Solaris 9 for x86 (Free!)

    Not really Linux..nor Open Source, but this forums is probably as close as we'll get...and Sun is stepping closer... Just found that Single processor x86 licenses are now free for Solaris 9 (binary - non-commercial), more info here. Just thought some would like to know.

    I've got mine downloading at the office now...so i can't play with it until monday.

    oh and the x86 platform of sol9 is not "Free"
    there is a $20 us charge to download. :eyebrow: :eyebrow: :eyebrow:

    I never checked it out to much, as I didn't have the use for it at the time, so I put it favourites, so when I was going to redo my system I could grab it, but now I look, and free license, $20 for the download service....

    :grr:


    Well I guess I won't be trying Solaris.

    Well...<insert profanity>.... my apologies folks. it got passed on to me the same way.... started what i though was a download and left the building.... Free licensing...charge for the download... that sucks rocks. Maybe i take back one or two of the nice things i said about Sun.
