I live in Minnesota and right now it’s about -11f and I have seen a few places on the net about people putting a air duct from there window to there computer. So I decided to try. The results are nice!

In these first 2 pictures you can see where the blower fan from the dead plasma TV is seated in to the window.

In this picture you can see the duct going down from the window to the side of the computer and the great mess of wires that lurk behind every computer.

This is where the fun ends. Right in to the blow hole over the cpu chilling the CoolerMaster Hyper 48

Before using the air duct my idle temps where between 43C (111F) and 45C (114) with a load temp of around 48C (120F) and 51C (125f).

Here are the pictures of the temps after. The Core Temp program is more accurate than the P5B-D sensors. (Note that the outside window is shut. the air being taken in is jus the air trapped between the windows.)

So that’s my extreme cooling. Questions or comments are welcome.

i think you would get better temps if you take the box a bit more out the window... and put the fan on the case blowing toward your cpu.... or that is extracting the hot air out¿?¿?¿?

And don't use 90 degree turns. Use something like bendable ducting from McMaster.

It is blowing cold air in. and also I would have used bendable tubing but i have a thing to throw projects together in one day spending no money!

nice work. there isnt much point going nuts with flexi tubing if it'll only get you a 2-3 degree difference.

If anything you'd probably get better temperatures by putting more sealing tape on to keep air inside, lol

You should move to Finland. It would really boost your temperature drop. Right now it's -32.3 degrees Celsius (-26.14 degrees Fahrenheit) outside.
