OK ive worked out that my machine sits idle for about 8 hours a day, and it seems that i may as well do some folding on it. Now ive tried to setup clients for multi gpu's as laid out on the F@H website, but when it comes to the point where it mentions duplicating the GPU folder in Appdata/Roaming I reach a problem, Ive been trying to use the GPU3 Systray client and when ive used it, it doesnt create any folders in the stated directory, so with that in mind i can't get to a state of completion. I know it doesnt seem to be the done thing to use ATi/AMD cards for it, but that is what i have (found the hint to use -forcegpu ati_r800 to get the gpu recognised). Is there anyone who can provide some insight into this issue? thanks in advance
Do you have your primary graphics card working with GPU3 ? ( forget the second card for now). By the way I think you should be able to get it going even though PH4Zed rightly says GPU3 was primarily designed for Fermi cards.
OK, I would let the primary card complete one WU to make sure it does this without errors and uploads correctly. Make sure both cards are at stock, no overclocking until we are sure everything is running reliably. Which operating system are you using, I presume some flavour of Win 7 ? Nice rig by the way. As you know AMD cards are pants compared to Nvidia for folding. Personally I would use your i7 950 to fold SMP WUs and forget using your graphics cards. Setting up the SMP client is easy these days and if you are able to run your rig 24/7 you could try -bigadv which would increase your points contribution no end. Also your electricity consumption would be considerably lower.
