I found an old Casio cash register in a trash pile and now modding it for a computer and all the circuits boards and printing mechs were gone but the displays where still with it. Here are the displays. [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] [/IMG] These pics are of the front and back of the displays. As you can see there are no chips or anything connected to the displays. My request is, any ideas on what can be done with these displays. Thank you for any comments and ideas.
I wish I could have the beer. Since my spinal injuries I have had to stop the alcohol intake due to the drugs that I take for pain. So have one for me will ya.
You could go for the usual sort of stuff; temperature display, perhaps? It should be fairly easy to rig up a circuit to drive those from a parallel port if you have experience with PICs or want to learn.
It's been 40 yrs since I had basic electricity but I would love the chance to learn to build the circuit and then get it into my puter. Can you help me out with a circuit to go by? I think I can figure out how to read it and set it into motion. I hope anyway. Thanks for the reply. I'm new at this modding business. I'm working on a cash register mod now for audio, video editing when it's done. I'm thinking about posting it here. At the moment it's being posted at modders-inc.com under Cash Box.
