I remember someone asking about it a while back, but for those who didnt know and find opening "my computer" slow maybe this will help, either that or a defrag or a new harddisk
I did this and now my comp opens instantainiously!

 

Nice find! My machine has never suffered from that but i've never been able to work out why my laptop does
