So I'm working on my RPG, and I actually have the bloody thing playable. Right now, I'm 90% done with the underpinnings, having only the actual maps and events to place for the most part. I think I'm gonna do a ring menu for the world map to match with the ring map for the battle system. Not all images are final, one thing I do plan on doing is making all my creatures over again, as I'm doing with the sprites. And now, the pics! Yes, I know they're different faces. ATM, they're placeholders. All that is getting done like the main character's sprite-made by me. All my work has been in RPG Maker VX, with awesome support from the forums, and image editing is handled by Paint.Net. Expect a full list of credits when I finish, as I'm still using more scripts...
Looking good. I hope the remainder goes smoothly for you. Of course, if you make public it's release here, you're going to be swamped with "How do I...?" PMs.
Looking really nice man! Keep it up! Just checked out the VX website. Looks interesting. How much are you re-skinning and how much is fresh code/script?
Just so you know, the plot doesn't have an ending yet, but it's FAR ahead of where I am in the game. Also, they're two sides of the same story-while the same events happen, there are more characters in the RPG simply to round out the storytelling, and because the RPG will have the levity the story lacks.
... You beat me to it. I'm making an online rpg too, 2D fantasy but not like that one. But mines about 10% complete. Good luck ^.^
I also am in the process of working on a ...project of my own. I'd like to post it but im a little worried that'll get plagerised due to the amount of info id need to post for it to make sense
Believe me, that's the one thing I don't fear. My story is so anti-everything you're taught to believe in RPGs... Including a few murders, some assorted mental illnesses, frank discussions of dead religions, multilingualism, and unrequited love. More is appearing on the website every few days, but I tell ya, it's gonna get really nasty soon. There is no good guy, period. I was rejected for publication on the basis that they could not tell good guy from bad. I told them that was intentional. Gunsmith, if you want any feedback, I'll trade info for info. That way, you can hit my audience with spoilers if I step on your toes.
nah i wouldnt do that, its all part of the suprise of gaming, its just that whilst this may be something ive tinkered with in my spare time it is something ive poured a lot of effort into it. considering the amount of trafic we get through here im just worried some washed up console game dev will go "oooo mine"
I saw someone using some of my work as a TF2 spray the other night and it got me thinking so yeah, id say it was serious.
It pleases me that you feel that way, however I was voicing my concern with someone who has probably thought about it at one point in his pet projects development. seing BlitzGamesStudio in your sig tells me that you are either a rabid fan or an employee, perhaps you are talant scouting or you are looking for your companies "next big thing" who knows, maybe a writer is looking for a little more then inspiration for his next book or uwe boll is lurking ominously for his next travisty. who knows? I know I dont. I might be onto a winner, I might not be, but to have the gaul to accuse a legiemate concern of mine as arrogance is downright nieve and would be expected from someone who spends thier time working on someone elses dream. My advice to you would be to taste your words first to see if they are palletable. would you like a napkin with your serving sir?
A piece of concept art, from my latest work in my second "office" (or, more accurately, BAMM.) Expect a version of Thor's hammer VERY soon. I've figured it out, but it'll probably be in PS, this is all paint.net still. Art style is layered, it's an actual #2 pencil drawing, shaded, scanned, and then redone. A style all my own. We may remember this, this is the image for the boss tentatively named Plecostoboss, pre-color. While I have a color version, I'm redoing it for the game-with better color this time.
