i have an XP1600 which i'm having trouble with i bought it 2nd hand and the person before me tried to unlock it, it has now got multiplier problems on start up it loads @ 6.5 instead of 10.5 sometime after cleaning it it will start @ 10.5 . Anyway the CPU is useless to me unless i can get this sorted so i need someone willing to give unlocking it a try, Anyone want a shot ? i won't hold you responsible for breaking it as it's already pretty ropey i just need someone experienced to give it a go. Please :D

If the previous owner tried to unclock it with silver paint you can remove this with a pencil eraser or carefully scrape it off with a razor blade. Than at least you'll have a relaible chip.

Heres a link to an overclock map for the XP http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/html/workshop/socketa/tbred_painting.html

A Google search for unclocking should give many how-to guides
