I like the idea of this, using the case just because i think that your combining style with a powerful computer. And Good idea to put watercooling in there so it'll be quiet as well:)
Just one question where is the cool air be drawn in from or does the front of the case not go into hard drive bays?

I've been looking at doing something similar.

The Hard drives for are normally (when it's a mac) stored in the top right of the case.

Instead of having the 2nd radiator in the top have you thought about putting it behind the one in the front?

It would need some fancy plumbing but would save you having to cut up the case a bit.

If your going to completely redo the back of the case, how about putting a sheet of perspex in and using that way you can mount the radiators to that.

    Here are some examples:

If you mean stacking radiators, then that wouldn't be very efficient, as heat from the first radiator would affect the cooling of the second. There is another G5 case mod out there where the two radiators are perpendicular to each other, which would be much better.

I would imagine that getting hold of a metal ATX backplate would be easier than making one from perspex, would look much better as well, as you can't blend plastic with metal as easily if you want a seamless finish.

    Definitely check out those examples.

Both good points, can you remember the name of that G5 mod? I've though about putting the radiators in like that but I'm not sure they would fit. (using old style PA120.2s)

Some new pictures of what has happened today!

    Hi!

Today I've been at Clas Olson, auto parts store and the local master plate.
I bought some sand paper and diamond discs for Chapter dremen and a few small things for my apartment at Clas Olson:) Then I took myself to where I bought Biltema epoxy adhesive for aluminum chemical and metals to be used for the front and back of the chassis.
Then I bought a small piece of aluminum that was a waste piece of sheet metal worker for 2.5euro, but also with a small metal piece that I was able to practice to engrave in.

Then I started to cut back in order so I can put my new piece of aluminum:

After I had been sawn out of the back side so I started to file in order so that the edges were fairly straight, I used a blade to get a straight line:

Here is the aluminum plate, and I have outlined how I will grind and cut the system:

I was first thinking of buying a ready motherboard plate from Lian Li, but I felt it would be more personal if I do it myself and I can have room for 2x 80mm fans back there instead

I have no idea for which one of the purple is better but I just had a vision of an G5 case with a shiny purple paint and it seemed nice.

Interesting start. As far as being a noob that does not matter. I'm sure you will pull it off, my first mod was also with a G5. Just stick with it and don't give up. Alot of G5 mods I've found around the web I notice the persons abandon the mod because it is a fairly dificult case to work with. Look foward to seeing what you do with the case.

    A mini update!

Was, unfortunately, no update this holiday when everything has gone really bad and wrong.
But it is not necessary to take this her, but i did make some on the case.

This small litel update did take unacceptably long time. Becus when I had made the top of the plate, my dremel broke. And becus I am a student, I have no money for the opportunity to add a new dremel so this will probably slow down the projekt even more :(
But I will try to get money to buy a new one:).
