"Enhancing its strong platform strategies, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) announced today plans to expand its in-home entertainment to outside the home with a new, all-in-one portable entertainment platform" http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030513/sftu088a_1.html Cool! Shame I have to wait till the end of next year to get one
But they're still using that proprietary memory stick garbage! The main reason I refuse to buy Sony is that you're locked into their proprietary stuff. Open Source and cross-platform all the way baby! Other than that it looks pretty cool!
I'm with Dad on this one. I always look for generic and not proprietary when memory is involved. It's a shame as sony do make some good gear. It's not even as if theirs is cheaper
I know loads of people here at work that are a bit silly with such things. Like, they have digital cameras or digital video crap that are SONY and they like to use just SONY because it's so 'wonderful' to be able to use the Memory Sticks with everything... And plug it into your DVD Player to watch JPEGs on your telly. WOW. It's so exciting I'm sure. "You like computers Dave? Yeah well, I'm getting a new one soon... Oh yeah, none other than a Time machine *cracks knuckles* Yeah, got a Memory Stick reader on the front and everything. I only use SONY stuff so it makes it easier." ...yeah ok. That really conversation really took place. The guy thought he was cool cause he used Time computers and SONY stuff exclusively. Freak.
Ahem.... http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31600 /GOO slowly shakes his head - "Young Folk - Never read the news...."
