The problem I have is you turn on TV sony logo comes up then it looks like it's going to work, then it turns off and repeats, then it turns off with the led turning red and flashing six times.

I've tryed leaving it for 3 days unpluged but the problem is still there so it looks like something inside has gone.

Don't know if this helps but I set the picture up when it was working and about a hour later it would set itself to look darker.
    Any ideas thanks.

Had a similar issue where my Sony would start a reset loop where Android would constantly reset the hardware. Only way was to replace something inside under warranty! It was a while ago so excuse my vagueness!

I'm sure it's the power board as I've opened it up to have a look and played with the wires on it and now it won't start up.

Would it not be worth trying to get it fixed?

The part I thought it was is £15 if not the other part can be up to £40 then there is no guarantee that's it, I can get a new TV for a bit more.

If you think it's the power board then the first place to check is the voltage outputs. Even if you're not sure what the voltage should be, it's worth checking if there is an actual output. Some boards have voltages labelled on them to make it easier. Just be careful around the power board - it should have a hot side (mains voltage) and cold side (low voltage) and these should be physically separate on the board. If you're confident and have a multimeter, you can check the mains is getting through to the cold side (but try to keep the meter to either the hot or cold side when checking), then check the low voltage outputs (some will be signal wires, some may carry 5 or 12V, so not every wire may register, just check that some do). Next logical place is the caps on it. If any look dodgy at all, you could replace them and see if that helps.

My Philips Android TV did something similar, kept trying to start but got nowhere. The screen would start so it wasn't the backlight or screen. Tried the power board but it looks like it's the Android board that gone - still, I might get another board and try it as they seem to be around the £40 - £50 mark.
