which one will you choose?? while gizmondo has the GPRS,camera,triband,POP3 e-mail and other facilities including e-mail that could match a blackberry in business and possibly outrun the DS and PSP in the gaming evolution. although the PSP reels us in with its desirable looks and critics remarks like ''the most beautiful gaming system ever created'' are we just been sucker punched by ''the new I-pod''??...both are tempting although the gizmondo raises the price by a large £60-80...Which one would you choose in this fast paced revolution of on the move handheld gaming. oh and if you Bit-Tech readers want i could do a weekly rundown on the weeks lates gaming industry news?? let me know what you think of the idea..wouldnt mind a weekly homepage article neither :naughty: , Ice

I'd choose the PSP over the Gizmondo.

I can't see the Gizmondo coming out on top competing against the PSP and DS, simply coz of its name.

Imagine the Orange adverts you see in the cinema. "I've got a great idea for a handheld games console...but it needs a name."

    GIZMONDO!!!

    Crap.

    Gizmondo sounds like a Pokemon

But then again, how could anyone call the PSP "the most beautiful gaming system ever created" or say that it has good looks? It's black ffs.

Either way, I'd probably have to go PSP, because until I read this thread, I'd never heard of Gizmondo before...

Let's just think about this for a moment. A handheld or any console for that matter is only as good as the games that are on it.

Nintendo IMO make some of the greatest games ever and that is the DS's strongest point. And Sony make some of the most popular games ever.

Now what games are coming out for this Gizmundo POS?

Besides who needs GPRS, a camera, POP3 e-mail, triband. I've got all of these on my phone and I reckon my phone still has better games.

Gizmondo doesn't have any decent games. Why would anyone buy it?

i saw the gizmondo, seems more of a utility than a gmaing machine, and the psp seems to be better, unless it's liek the PS2, (I think xbox should make one. Zbox) :naughty: :naughty:

Now why on God's green earth would I want to have any of these features on a portable gaming system? I want to play games not answer the damn phone. Why not just buy a PDA? Better yet how about I just use my cell phone? This is just as bad as the n-gauge, stupid and pointless.
I think most of these handhelds have gotten out of control with all these crappy extra features you will never use. I have a DS and I will never use the pictochat on it because if I wanted to talk to someone 10 meters away I would get up and walk over to them. But in my opinion the Nintendo DS is the best for the price because it isn't some over grown hunk of junk that has 20 different programs I will never use. :wallbash:

    No, it isn't.

Anyway, I think PSP is the clear winner here. Solely because Wipout looks so outstanding. Regardless I'm waiting until at least v1.1 of the PSP comes out. I've heard too many rumours and reports of shoddy manufacturing and flying cartridges :eyebrow:.

I thought that was one of it's features. Twist it slightly and a disc will fly out at the person in front of you. :hehe:

I think I'll wait them to sort out the battery life on the PSP before I get one. I dread to think what kind of battery life you will get with Wipeout when RR only last ~1 hour on high brightness with WiFi turned on.

GTA will be even worse though. It needs constant disc access and if a straight port of GTA3 was made the battery would last less than half an hour.

    Bit of both :duh:

Theres something here on GTA for the PSP but theres no useful numbers.

Can't find the linf for Ridge Racer but Gamespot have reported play time from 90mins to 3 hours with varying settings.

The latest Edge has a decent look at the PSP. Battery life is the main issue they have with it. As Darv said, it depends what you do with it, apparently. But still, 90mins gaming?! Not good. Oh, and apparently the square button can stick as well. And the analog controller is awkward to get used too (some games have awkward controls due to the stick itself, as well as game code not being finished yet).

When they get the media catalogue sorted for the PSP, and if there are enough good movies, and they're not too expensive, I think we are looking at a new iPod. Except I've justified a PSP to myself, whereas the iPod is over-priced imo. ;)

Gizmondo - I'd love to see it even get a foot in the door, but I'm not convinced it'll go too far.. :(

WTF is a gizmodo? Sounds like something expensive that will work like crap. Kinda like the Sega Game Gear.

:eyebrow: A little off topic here but I had and still have a game gear and have never had a broblem with it just with the 3rd party hardware for it. Always played great and lasted longer (physically) than my wifes gameboys did. :p
