I have a Sony Vaio Laptop with a blu-ray rom drive but when I put a blu-ray movie into the drive it spins for a second and stops, unlike with a DVD or audio disc where the drive starts spinning for a while. The computer says no disc is in and Corel Win DVD/BD won't pick it up either. I did delete a few programs to speed up my computer so i'm wondering if I accidentally deleted something for the BD Drive. The computer still says 'BD ROM Drive'. Anyone have any ideas?
They just stop reading br dvd's from what I've seen. Not really anything you can do to help it/ fix it as far as I know.
Other than buying a replacement drive or fiddling with replacing the lens if it's possible, there's nowt you can do. They just fail - many of the early PS3 drives have failed in this respect. It seems to be a part of the 'blu-ray experience'. I assume it still reads normal dvd and cd's fine?
