hi everyone, i hope someone with a lot more brains than me can help this old lady ti fix my laptop??? i bought it from a friend and want to clean it up, ie restore to factory settings i put in a recovery disc, but all i am getting after following the instructions very carefully is oxc000000f, and it will not let me do anything ?? so if 1 of you kind people to tell me in plain english how to go about it i would be most grateful thanks pat
Google the error code; seems to be either a corrupted boot sector or the HDD is toast ( hence refusing to boot correctly ). You may need a new / spare HDD and try to do a re-install of the operating system ( Im hoping for your sake you can do that with the recovery discs otherwise you'll need to borrow someone's installation disc which is the same as your OS and use your licence key from the laptop to activate it, should be a sticker on the rear/ underside with a long set of numbers & letters ).
