The computer was working perfectly fine prior to this. I havent downloaded anything recently and the virus scanner didnt pop up with anything about a virus. When this happened, I wasnt on the computer doing anything. I was on the floor playing with the dog and I noticed the computer shut off suddenly with no warnings or anything. I figured maybe the dog hit a wire and it restarted. The computer restarted back up fine so I didnt think anything of it. Then I left the room for a while and when I came back, the screen resolution was on HUGE (while I have it set to where icons and all that is tiny) and there was a greenish color to the toolbar and it was staticy looking but I could still see everything. I restarted the computer and after the Windows screen with the moving loading sign, the screen stays black/blank. I am able to get onto safe mode but nothing other. What is happening and how to fix this??
Seems like a graphics card related problem, try uninstalling the drivers in safemode then boot to normal xp and reinstall the drivers.
Boot to safe mode and disable the video card drivers. Once disabled, reboot normally, and re-enable. If that doesnt work, try unplugging USB devices (sounds odd, I know, but Ive had similar issues with external USB devices, oddly enough). Also, this should be in Tech Support
