I've had a Creative Audigy 2 ZS for a while, decent card, but within the past year, it's been randomly deciding it's not installed and no longer playing sound, I have tried uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them, but it would say, "No card detected, please make sure product is installed." It's been in that case for the past 6 months. It's done this in 32 bit Vista, and 32 bit XP. Is it time for a new sound card? Surprisingly, Creative has made drivers that have not crapped out on me in 64 bit XP Also I tried to plug in a USB memory stick, into the front of my P182, the second it touched the plugin, the computer reset, it's done this twice now, any ideas?
Your soundcard may have died, but a faulty/dead soundcard, doesn't tie-in with/explain your other problem... Have you checked all your connectors/cabling... especially to the front USB ports, because it sounds like they're shorting?
Correct me if i am wrong..... It might be the way its connected up. Sounds stupid but have you connected the USB cable to the USB connection on the MB. Might be that you have connected it to the IEEE 1394. They look the same on the board.
