I've got two different problems concerning sound in movies.

    1) Sound is allright, but voices are much lower than the rest. Media Player Classic Homecinema seems to be especially affected. The file is a DVD, runs fine in a common dvdplayer...
In some players it also works (VLC)

    2) "crackling" during playback. over internal speakers as well as over headphones.

What do you think? reinstall codecs?

    For Media Player Classic Homecinema:
There are a zillion settings in "options" "Playback" "output" "directshow audio"..which one to use?

What is your Windows version? 32 or 64-bit?

This usually happens when you have your system configured for 5.1 but only have stereo output.

    to 1)
Ah!, hmmm, it does it on stereo and on 5.1
I've got stereo out connected to headphone out, and 5.1 connected via SPDIF.
    Does that mix things up?

    to 2)
    It's a netbook
The sound driver recognises when headphones or external speakers are plugged in are plugged in, so I don't think it's set to 5.1.
Or is this a setting within MPCHC?
