I am thinking i may take the plunge, just wondering how long the power cord is and how long the cable going to PC is, as then I can determine where I am going to put them.

Well I received them yesterday unpacked them and man they are BIG!! so I plugged them in and played some Halestorm to see how they held up and really superb speakers, but unfortunately I had to return them as where I wanted to put them they were two large, I did come up with alternative space but that failed as well.

Looks like I will stick with my Logitech Z2300's for now and look for a alternative sometime.

If you do go down the sound bar route the JBL SB400 are excellent option might be able to pick one of the bay for your budget.

I've just picked up the Solo9Cs because the 7C's aren't available. They're MASSIVE!

Can someone please call my other half and explain my purchase? I blamed this thread.

Your problem was using the 7Cs as a reference point. What you should have done is explained before they turned up that because you love her, you decided not to buy the 12Cs (which are twice as large and twice as expensive, obviously) and instead compromised on the 9Cs.

She doesn't need to know that the 12Cs aren't a thing.

I can do that for you. No worries. She'll not believe anything I say though, because she knows that I am worse than you.

I have been using a sound bar, got fed up of the cabling issues with the number of machines connected particularly my consoles so pump it all through this via HDMI switch.

It's not perfect but it's compact cheap (150) and I can stream music/podcasts to it via Bluetooth too which is nice.

Probably not for the audiophiles but it does me.

I have a Yamaha DSP-2200 sound-bar which sounds great and has given me many years of good service but it was a lot more than £150.

To get an improvement in sound over your current speakers I think you are goig to have to do some serious homework, a £150 soundbar is probably going to have a few compromises in its construction to get down to the price.

I think the advice elsewhere in this thread is sound but maybe save up for a few more months and spend a little more?
