Here is my next project, to get decent sound out of my Dell T300

Requirements a decent up to 24/192 S/PDIF coaxial O/P not Optical

The available ports are an 8x and a 4x PCI-Express slots, the only cards I have found thus far are

    E-MU 1212 PCie 1x

There is a 1010 which is part of a system and presumably would offer an output that meets my requirements but am not too sure about the full suitability of it thus far.

There is this beastie the Asus xonar essence stx pci-e card that offers the kind of spec.

My other Dell machine is sorted with the ESI Juli@; which is excellent pity there is not a pci-e 1x slot version of this excellent card available.

The other suitable one where I wish there was a 1x slot version is the M-Audio 192

    Any other options?

    Thanks

    Simon :)

The Xonar is heavily recommended by pretty much everyone, you shouldn't be disappointed.
