Has anyone got a Soyo K7V Dragon +. If so, is it any good? It's very nice looking and would be great through a window, so I'm thinking of getting one.
I've installed one for my mate it is a good mobo but as soon as you install it make sure you flash the latest BIOS on it, the older bios used to restart the system for no reason something to do with teh network card. The ATX power connector is in a weard location its just behind the i/o ports and there are a few BIG resisters near the cpu socket so make sure you dont get a massive heatsink. The built in sound card is better than ASUS ones you get a SCARD reader with the mobo BUT for some reason the card they supply is blank (it has NO chips in it). The motherboard is good for over clocking it has jumper free overclocking like the ASUS mobos. you also get onboard network card as well. you also have 4 IDE channels. I have a ASUS A7v 266 and I would have to say the soyo is better than the ASUS A7v 266 form my personal point of view !
Jamiesurfs, I have just readup about this modo on Toms Hardware and am very interested, I was intending to get a Abit KR7-Raid, but this has more to offer as I am not rearly an avid overclocker. I prefer modding. If you get it could you let me know what you think. Cheers
I just got it through the post. Haven't installed it yet but first impressions are WOW! This is impressive. A great looking board, an extra 3 1/2" bay with 2 USB and a Smart Card reader, 3 IDE cables, excellent Software pack, Nice sound outputs and inputs on dedicated board, The most comprehensive manual I have ever seen (Around 50 or more pages), and a totally unexpected free T Shirt. Not bad, as I haven't even tried it yet I hope for further good things from the board itself, and will keep you posted!
Just read this review of the Soyo against my old Epox; www.gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=kt266a Oh Boy, Oh Boy! Now I can't wait to get my mucky paws into using it!
i clicked that link and it went to a page and said this "Fatal error: input in flex scanner failed /home/apex/public_html/reviews/kt266a on line 1"
Try this... http://www.gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=kt266a/index.html if not just click the reviews link on the left
My mate got it form www.Chillblast.co.uk it is the only palce in the UK that stocks them @ the moment.
Why will the MC462 not fit. The line of capacitors are no closer than the KT7a raid and it fits on one of them.
Ok, the board's in. In a word.................. WOW! Dead easy to set up, seems to be performing even better than my old Epox 8KHA+, a decent 5v line, and I'm dead happy..........................Yippee! By the way, I managed to get my Alpha Pal8045 on there no probs at all, so indications are it will take a big heatsink. Oh yeah, did I mention.....................YIPPEE YAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
