installed SP1 and went fine. but now when it gets to winxp boot screen freezes , so put in my spare 40Gb maxtor, and put IBm(with xp/sp1) as slave, but i cant access some files because i was admin and blocked others going into my music folder, how do i reset it?
Have you tried booting into Safe Mode? Then you can uninstall sp1. If you can't get into safe mode, try booting from the XP cd and repair your installation with the repair console. Good luck.
if you still cant get in you can back up the protected files with another coopy of xp (backup utility) and then restore them to somewhere else. you have to look for the restore security settings check box though.
